November birthday parties
Thu 19 Nov 2020Dear Parents,
Next week we will have our class parties to celebrate children whose birthdays have taken place in November. As it is an INSET day on Friday 27th November and children are not in school, the parties will take place during the afternoon of Thursday 26th November. As before, children will have their school lunch or packed lunch as usual but can also bring in a small snack/treat (e.g. a packet of crisps, small cake) to eat in the afternoon. Food items must not contain nuts and cannot be shared. Children should come to school in their normal school uniform.

Covid-19 testing
Thu 15 Oct 2020South Staffordshire has seen a surge in coronavirus cases over the past few weeks, and we all need to do everything we can to stop it in its tracks. One of the ways we can do this is by finding out how much the virus is circulating in the local community. We do this by testing people who aren’t currently showing any symptoms of Covid-19.
We’re calling on you to help us with this work, by getting tested if you don’t currently have any symptoms. Testing is quick and free, and is taking place in your area on Saturday 17 October at:
Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre, 10am till 2pm
Scout Hut, Walsall Road, Great Wyrley, 10am till 2pm200 appointments for each location are available, but must be booked in advance here: https://staffordshire.zipporah.co.uk/TrackAndTrace/
If you have symptoms of Covid-19, please do not attend this testing. You need to book through the national portal at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.

Confirmed Covid-19 case within school
Thu 01 Oct 2020Dear parents,
Unfortunately, we have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in school. Year 1 pupils have been identified as having been in close contact with the individual. As a result, children in Year 1 will need to self-isolate for 14 days from their last contact with the individual. This will mean that they can return to school on 13th October. Other members of the household will not need to self-isolate and siblings not in Year 1 can still come to school.
More information can be found by viewing the two letters on the website. One of the letters is a general letter to all parents to inform you that we have had a case in school. The other letter is a letter to parent's of children in Year 1 informing them of the need for their child in Year 1 to self-isolate.

Census Day Dinner
Wed 30 Sep 2020CENSUS DAY DINNER – 1ST OCTOBER 2020
Why not encourage your child to try our new menu tomorrow and be in with the chance of winning a £10 toy voucher!
The cost of the meal for KS2 children is £2.20 and FREE for EYFS/KS1 children.
If your child usually has a packed lunch, why not encourage them to try one of our delicious ham and cheese sandwiches or baguettes? This will be served with veg sticks, fresh fruit or dessert of the day.
We are asking for your support for us to be able to secure the government funding to supply a hot meal for all EYFS/KS1 children and would be grateful if you could encourage your child to have a school meal tomorrow.
