At Cheslyn Hay Primary our Design and Technology curriculum intends to provide children with opportunities to use their creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real problems within a variety of contexts.  We want to develop imaginative and creative thinking in children.  We will encourage and enable children to develop the confidence to talk about how things work, allow them to draw their ideas and then select appropriate tools and techniques for making a product, whilst following safe procedures.

Our children will be provided with opportunities to reflect and evaluate present and past design and technology, it's uses and impacts.  Evaluation is an important aspect of the design process and allows children to adapt and improve their product.  The children will explore attitudes to the man-made world and how we live and work within it and develop an understanding of technological processes, products and manufacture, and their contribution to our society.
