All the staff have had the most wonderful week welcoming your children back to school and meeting their new classes. It has been lovely to see the school full of children all smiling and enjoying their learning again. We’d like to say well done to all the children and the parents for how well you’ve all adapted to the new ways of working so quickly. We hope you all have an enjoyable and restful weekend and look forward to seeing all the children back on Monday.

MESSAGE FROM STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ACTIVE TRAVEL TEAM

To support the government plan for all pupils to return to school, Staffordshire County Council has produced the following Travel to School Action Plan to support the schools reopening. As children return to school and parents to work, the benefits that active travel brings are more important than ever. There are many ways we are supporting your school and ask you to join with us in these unusual times to reduce the number of cars in the immediate school vicinity; for the benefit of residents, for the safety of your pupils and the environment. In order to do this, we ask as many of you as possible to walk to school. If this is not possible, consider parking away from the school and walking some of the way.

We are calling on parents to keep the area around our school clear and safe by walking, scooting or cycling to school from next week. Please plan your new route.
With more cars expected on the school run than ever before, help keep the area around our school clear and safe by walking, scooting or cycling to school.
Great tips at https://bit.ly/ActiveTravelStaffs to make the school run more fun.
Government advice is to walk, cycle or scoot to school if you can - great tips to fit it into your day at https://bit.ly/ActiveTravelStaffs

More car journeys to school means more congestion, air pollution and parking problems around school. Please walk to school if you can! #activetravelheroes
We know it can be hard to get round the problems stopping you walking, cycling or scooting to school. Tips to help you at https://bit.ly/ActiveTravelStaffs
Please try out your new walking, cycling or scooting route to school this week. Check out the green spaces around the area to see the world you’re protecting!
With less people expected on the buses, we’re expecting far more congestion on the school run around our school.  Help keep the school gates clear and safe and walk, cycle or scoot to school.

  • A message from Mr Griffiths

    Fri 17 Jul 2020 C Griffiths

Our final day of school is done for this academic year and what a very strange year it has been. It was lovely to see lots of our Year 2, 3 and 4 children yesterday. Your teachers have missed you lots and really enjoyed seeing your smiley faces back in school.

The teachers also really enjoyed meeting their new classes on Microsoft Teams today, and I know they’re looking forward to meeting you all properly in September.

We gave our Year 6 children a good send off on Wednesday and know they will continue to do well as they move on to high school. We wish them all the best for the future.

We are so proud of all of our children and how they have faced such a difficult and uncertain time. You have all been truly amazing. Have a lovely summer and we look forward to seeing you in September.

    Mr Griffiths.

  • The Hub

Following the response from the survey that was sent out last week, we have made the decision to reopen The Hub over the summer and provide childcare for those that need it. In order to allow us to plan effectively and make decisions on the unfurloughing of Hub staff, I would ask that if you require childcare over the summer, please contact us with your bookings by Friday 3rd July. This will allow us to plan the provision effectively and ensure it can be delivered safely and according to social distancing guidelines. The dates booked need to be set as much as possible to be able to staff properly. Cancellations will be allowed with 7 days notice.  If notice is not given or given after the 7 day notice period the booked sessions will still be chargeable.
